Dr. Jeffrey Cohen received his M.D. from Johns Hopkins and was a resident in medicine at Duke University. Following a medical staff fellowship at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), he was a clinical fellow in infectious diseases at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and an instructor in medicine at Harvard University. He returned to NIH, where he now serves as chief of the Laboratory of Infectious Diseases. His lab works on development of candidate vaccines for herpes simplex virus and Epstein-Barr virus; he currently has two clinical trials of an EBV vaccine ongoing at the NIH clinical center, and another EBV vaccine trial is scheduled to begin in late May or early June.
